The virtual JA Company Program Trade Fair was a huge success in an elevated pitch format, with over 90 students competing for the top awards! We are grateful to our event Presenting Sponsor Gulf Island, and JA Board Member Dr. Richard Heo, for providing this incredible platform to our student leaders! Congratulations to our top three startups - EVO from Elkins High School (1st Place), Xcel from Community of Faith (2nd Place) and Simply Co. from Clements High School (3rd Place) – for delivering some outstanding presentations!
JA Company Program Trade Fair was made extra special thanks to an amazing panel of judges, most of them spending the entire day with us. On behalf of Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas, a huge thank you to Dr. Richard Heo from Gulf Island, Mitchell Crocker from CenterPoint Energy and Houston Baptist University, Alyssa Le from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, Ryan Chu from Dive Chat and the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, Victoria Garcia from Chevron and the Rice Board Fellows (Rice MBA), Ravi Brahmbhatt and G.E. "Ned" Mueller, Jr. from the Houston Community College, Sam Lin from Facebook and Maureen Lee from Dun & Bradstreet. We applaud our judges for their tremendous guidance and support of these young entrepreneurs, and are thrilled that so many of our alumni leaders returned to support the event as judges this year. Our dedicated #JACompanyProgram alumni network also helped host the event and provided strategic advice prior to the execution of our inaugural virtual JA Company Program Trade Fair.
The #JACompanyProgram is proud to be supported by our Premier Presenting Sponsor, LyondellBasell, a JA Board Company. Thanks to LyondellBasell's generosity and support, the program has reached new heights, even in the midst of the pandemic.
