JA Company Program startups performed exceedingly well at the Houston Community College IDEAS Pitch Competition this month, winning all the top awards and prize money totaling $2,500. We are proud to announce that brand new startup Biobite from the Harmony School of Innovation – Sugar Land, won 3rd place, Student Power from The Village School was awarded the 2nd place prize, while Dulicious Co.’s offshoot company Industrifilm from Dulles High School won the coveted 1st place trophy. Congratulations to Cherrene Framo (incoming CEO for Biobite), Juan Rodriguez Nunez (CEO/Co-Founder of Student Power) and Elaine Vo (incoming Co-CEO for Dulicious Co.) for their wonderful performance and for leading their teams well. Special thanks to Ravi Brahmbhatt, HCC’s Director of Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship, for his endless guidance during this competition. We are also extremely grateful to David Regenbaum and Sandra Louvier for their steadfast support. The 2020-21 school year has been a tremendous one for the JA Company Program, with our startups winning multiple business competitions and setting the bar even higher for next year!
